Laying the hardwood floors in the UW Health Sports Factory

The largest piece of the downtown sports complex project is underway.

Construction crews are about halfway done with the tedious job of laying the hardwood floor inside the new UW Health Sports Factory in downtown Rockford.

When laid out one after another, crews say the hardwood pieces would stretch roughly 106 miles, making this facility one of the largest hardwood court facilities in the Midwest.

The project is still on schedule for completion in late May, with the first tournaments starting shortly after.
