Aces - Summer

Aces - Summer is open to both boys and girls and combines volleyball instruction with game play.  Participants will have one hour of volleyball instruction/coaching followed by a double-header volleyball schedule each session.  Practice begins at 4:30 p.m. with games starting at 6 p.m. and parents are welcomed and encouraged to attend matches – please note, admission is FREE.  Participants should have a base knowledge of volleyball concepts – this program is perfect for youth who have completed one of our Fall or Winter session of ACES or who have played one year of organized volleyball.    The Aces – Summer Program is perfect for those players who have had some instruction and are ready to graduate to a game setting.  “Beginner” level players are encouraged to attend our All Skills Volleyball Camp.

Camps

All Skills Volleyball Camp

This four-day camp is open to both boys and girls who are looking to learn basic volleyball skills and game play (appropriate for all skill levels). For participants entering grades 3-8.

Boy's Volleyball Camp- Clarke University

Boys Volleyball has taken off in the Rock River Valley and we are excited to announce the second annual Boys Volleyball Camp at the UW Health Sports Factory, powered by nationally ranked Clarke University! Clarke University’s Head Coach, Nick Clark will be bringing his coaching staff and players to the brand new sports facility to provide attendees a 3-day (July 10,11,12) volleyball camp for boys ages 12-18. The camp starts each day at 9 a.m. and will break for lunch from 12 noon until 1:30 p.m. The camp then resumes in the afternoon from 1:30 p.m. until 4 p.m. Do not miss out on this awesome opportunity to train and play with some of the NAIA’s top players!

Clarke University is a Catholic Liberal Arts Institution located in Dubuque, IA. It offers 31 different majors and is recognized by the NAIA as a Champions of Character 5-Star Institution. It is routinely recognized as one of the Best Colleges in the Midwest by Forbes Magazine.

Select Volleyball Camp

This summer’s Select Camp is a Hitter, Setter, Defensive camp for both girls and boys currently in grades 6-12 and is powered by Rockford University and their Head Coach Jennifer Saylor.  The camp is designed as an intensive training opportunity for intermediate to advanced level volleyball players looking to improve their selected skill. The camps run concurrently with each other, therefore setters will have an opportunity to work with hitters and also train in competitive drills with the Libero’s as well.

At time of registration, participants designate the position/skill they would like to focus on for the camp (hitter, setter, or libero/d.s.).

About Coach Jennifer Saylor

Head Coach, Jennifer Saylor brings with her a wealth of knowledge and coaching experience at the club, high school and collegiate level including ten years as a head coach at NCAA Division III institutions. Saylor spent four seasons as the head coach at Lake Forest College and six years at Illinois College.

During her time at Lake Forest, Saylor's squads were repeatedly near the top of the Midwest Conference (MWC). Her team finished tied for third in the Midwest Conference in three of her four seasons including earning a berth in the conference tournament in each of her final two years. In her final season with the Foresters, Saylor was named the MWC Coach of the Year as she led her team to a second place finish in the conference tournament.

Immediately prior to Lake Forest, Saylor served as the head volleyball coach at Illinois College. While at IC, the Lady Blues were routinely a force in the Midwest Conference finishing in the top three in the south division five times including tying for first on three occasions. Her team qualified for the MWC Tournament in five of her six seasons, while also winning at least twenty matches in three consecutive years.


Leagues

Co-Ed Middle School Summer League

Each team will play two matches per date. All matches are two out of three set matches, rally scored to 25 points (a third game, if necessary, rally scored to 15 points), and are officiated by on-site court managers. A completed team roster form will be required the first night of play. Co-ed teams welcomed. Players must be entering grades 5-8. Team registration only.

Girls High School Jr. Varsity Summer League

Each team will play two matches per date. All matches are two out of three set matches, rally scored to 25 points (a third game, if necessary, rally scored to 15 points), and are officiated by on-site court managers. A completed team roster form will be required the first night of play. Team registration only.

Dates: June 14 - July 26, 2017
Times: Games start as early as 6:00 p.m.


Girls High School Varsity Summer League

Each team will play two matches per date.
